- Its detrimental effect to our body

These days, we are living in a fairly dangerous society. A variety of diseases are inducing catastrophic pain and emotion despite the efforts of many different people. This article will introduce you to Coronary Heart disease (CAD), one of the lethal diseases, killing approximately 700,000 people each year.

Coronary Heart Disease (CAD) is a cardiovascular disease that blocks the pathway of blood in arteries. Usually, what happens is that LDL, small particles presented in arteries with HDL, starts sticking to arterial walls and proliferates, forming a large fatty plaque in the vessels. In this stage of the disease, people usually do not feel the symptoms because it is not grown to completely block the blood pathway.  However, when actively using energy, such as exercising, it might perceive a minor chest pain due to an increase in heart rate. When the heart rate increases, the blood would flow faster through the vessels, and the fatty plaque would then be an obstacle that could partially interfere with the blood's pathway, ultimately leading to the sensory pain localized in the chest.
CAD would be initiated when the fatty plaque ruptures and spills the contents in the artery. To repair this damage, Thrombus would be formed in the damaging area as a response, but this could also proliferate until it ultimately blocks the artery. As the blood pathway is blocked, a myriad of conditions, such as hypertension (HTN), Heart failure (HF), and Cardiac infarction, could arise, eventually leading you to death.

There are numerous ways to identify CAD. Medical practitioners could perceive unstable angina, a condition in which people feel chest pain during the resting state. Or they could conduct blood tests identifying the levels of LDL in arteries. CAD can be prevented by avoiding: Smoking, obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes, and a Sedentary lifestyle. Because CAD is one of the leading causes of death, we need to be wary and prudent when making decisions that could potentially lead to these listed risk factors.
